My Makeover At Charlotte Tilbury | Covent Garden

My Makeover At Charlotte Tilbury | Covent Garden | Lisa's Beauty Spot

On the 16th February, I went to the Charlotte Tilbury flagship store on Covent Garden to have my make up done. The store is absolutely stunning, I was greeted instantly by the lovely reception staff, and they offered me a glass of prosecco, which was really lovely, I then met my makeup artist, his name was Joe, and he was really lovely. He was extremely knowledgeable and gave me some great tips. I went for the pillow talk look, which is Charlottes most popular makeup look, but he also customised it a little bit for me, as I was celebrating my birthday.

He started with the Multi Miracle Glow, which I had just gotten the day before - to cleanse my skin, it is extremely hydrating and can be used as a cleaner, face mask, body balm and even an overnight face mask. I’m really impressed with this product.

He then moved on to using the Brightening Youth Glow on my t-zone, I have combination skin so he advised on using this, as I’d said I wanted blowy skin. It isn’t drying at all, and it really did help keep my foundation in place.

Next, we moved into one of my favourite products, which I’ve been using for about 7 months now. It’s Charlotte’s Magic Cream. This cream is so amazing, it is award winning! It contains Rosehip and camellia oils, wild pansy extracts, hyaluronic acid (which is my favourite ingredient in skin care, because it is so hydrating) and vitamin E. I told him how much of a skin care junkie it was, and how much I love trying new products!

Then, we moved onto foundation. As it was a day look, we both agreed that we shouldn’t go too heavy. I informed Joe that the Airbrush Flawless Foundation was my absolute holy grail, he then asked me had I tried the Light Wonder foundation. I hadn’t. It has the same ingredients as the Magic Cream, so this definitely interested me. I said that I liked to go a shade or 2 darker than my skin tone, to bring more life into my face, as I’m so fair if I shade match, I always look so washed out. We went with shade 2 fair. This foundation looked so stunning on the skin, and I instantly fell in love with it. This is one of the products I bought.

Next, we moved onto concealer. We used the Magic Away concealer in shade 1 under my eyes and shade 3 everywhere else. It’s a full coverage concealer that doesn’t look cakey or heavy on the skin, it looked stunning with the foundation. This was another product I bought.

We then moved onto eyes, I was surprised by this, but Joe explained that he always does eyes before face powder for easy clean up, this is definitely something I’m going to bring across into my routine. Sometimes I do my eyes before my foundation, and I find it hard to do because it always looks absolutely crazy and far too heavy without the foundation, but this technique was very helpful. He used the smaller Pillow Talk palette, and showed me how the colours work, you use them left to right, which makes creating an eye look so easy. This palette is stunning for a day look.

He then moved onto powder, and we used the Airbrush Flawless Finish in shade 1. I already have this powder and it is my tried and true. It’s my holy grail, it literally makes your foundation and concealer last all day.

Next, we moved onto liner. He used the Rock ‘n’ Kohl eyeliner in the shade ‘Barbarella Brown’ - I hadn’t used brown liner for years, and it looked really pretty and not too heavy. It kept the look soft, and not too dramatic.

We moved onto bronzer and contour. He used the Filmstar Bronze and Glow palette, which is something I’ve wanted to try for years. It looked smooth on the skin, it didn’t look muddy which is an issue I’ve had with bronzers. This is another product I bought! He also used the highlighter in the palette and this made my skin look so dewy. It was the perfect amount of glow.

For brows, he used Brow Lift pencil in ‘Super Model’ and Legendary Brows Gel in ‘Super Model’ I love darker brows, and this colour was perfect. He started by brushing my brow hairs up, filling them in with the pencil, and then using the brow gel through them. He went for a fluffy brow look, which wasn’t too over the top, they looked natural and I really liked them. I said to him I don’t like overly fluffy brows and he definitely made them look amazing.

For mascara, he used the Legendary Lashes Part 2 mascara, which I had never used before. It’s a black mascara, it’s a thickening mascara. But, I found it was thickening and lengthening on me too, which was brilliant. I got a free sample of this the day before so I’m excited to use it more.

We moved onto lips finally, we used the Pillow Talk Lip Cheat Lip Liner, he slightly overlined my lips, then moved on to using the Pillow Talk Matte Revolution lipstick, which is one of my favourites. The, he told me about a new product that has just launched- the Collagen Lip Bath Plumping Gloss - also in shade Pillow Talk, I’m not a huge gloss fan but I definitely wanted to give this a try and I’m so glad I did. It had a plumping effect, it smells like peppermint. It wasn’t too uncomfortable at all, which was surprising, I’ve used a few plumping glosses and they burned!

The makeover was redeemable against products used, so I got the Filmstar Bronze and Glow palette,  the Light Wonder Foundation and the Magic Away concealer. I also decided to get the new Instant Eye Pillow Talk Palette, which is limited edition. It just looked so stunning in person, I couldn’t say no! Joe also gave me a sample of the Genius Magic Powder to try.

I honestly cannot recommend going to the store more. If you have a special occasion and want to feel pampered you should book an appointment. The products are so luxurious and such amazing quality, they are the best I’ve ever used. If you get the chance, you should go, you won’t be disappointed! ❤️

L'Oreal Detox Clay Mask | Lisa's Beauty Spot

L'Oreal Detox Clay Mask

Hi everyone! This is my 60th post!! How exciting! After seeing everyone rave about this mask, I knew I had to try it. I was far too scared to try those masks you peel off! I got my mask from Superdrug for £5.29 (It was on sale, it's normally £7.99) along with the L'Oreal Detox Foaming wash (I'll post about this soon!)

The star ingredient in this mask is Kaolin Clay, which is what sucks all the impurities out of your skin. This mask has three clays in it- Kaolin, Montmorillonite (Which is rich in minerals) and Ghassoul (Which is used for brightening and clarifying the complexion)

I've found this product to be, well to put no finer point on it amazing for my skin. After just one use my skin was super soft and looked so much brighter. I've been using it for just over two weeks now (I use it 2-3 times a week) and the improvement to my skin is amazing. My skin is glowing, my makeup goes on a lot smoother and looks... Better haha.

I apply a thin layer with a foundation brush, as I feel like I always make a mess with my fingers, I leave it on for 10-15 mins, wash it off with warm water and a wash cloth. And I'm left with soft, glowy skin. I'm honestly so impressed with this. You don't need a lot, I've read some reviews where others have said that it's hard to remove - I can only imagine this being a problem if you put a really thick layer on.

You can see in these photos how it sucks all the rubbish out of your pores (EWWW) it's so effective. You feel a lot cleaner after using this. I wouldn't recommend using it more than 2-3 times a week however, as it would be very drying.

All in all, I really recommend this mask. It's a fantastic product, and great value for money.

Thank you for reading!
